French knitting is generally used for making floor mats. Instead I make a durable collection of clothing and furniture that people would never want to throw away and never need to replace. There is a great sense of nostalgia attached to this collection.

When designing and sewing, each garment is broken down to its simplest necessities and the unpredictability of the fabric is left to determine the outcome. All of the knitting is completed by various people and uses only scrap wool which is donated by friends and family.

In most cases the knitting spools are left on the item to encourage you to adapt it to your own liking, or to create new pieces of your own. This heightens the awareness of the time and care spent on making the textile, and works to encourage the love of making rather than buying. The knitting spools and buttons are all turned by my Uncle out of scrap, untreated wood

Il metodo french knitting è solitamente usato per la fabbricazione di tappeti. Io creo invece una collezione di vestiti e pezzi d'arredo duratura e sostenible che colui che compra non vorrà ne dovrà mai rimpiazzare.

C'è un grande senso di nostalgia allegato a questa collezione.

Durante la progettazione e realizzazione ogni indumento è suddiviso nella sua piu semplice necessità e l'imprevedibilità del tessuto è lasciata a determinarne il risultato. Tutto il lavoro a maglia è completato da una varietà di collaboratori e utilizza somente scarti di lana donati da amici e parenti. Questi pezzi unici sono già pieni di storie. Nella maggioranza dei casi le bobbins rimangono attaccate all'indumento per incoraggare il compratore a modificare o meglio a creare un pezzo tutto suo.

Questo aumenta la consapevolezza del tempo e la cura dedicati nella produzione tessile e stimola l'amore del creare piutosto che comprare.

Tutte le bobine ed i bottoni sono realizzati da mio zio in nuova zelanda intagliando scarti in legno non trattati.
